All Things Bloom

This body of work is shaped by blossoming. By the simple, yet every day act of growth - all things tiny and big, all things beautiful and painful. Each painting is drawn from recent and real experiences in my life where I have experienced and witnessed change, failure, beauty, discomfort and even pain. What I believe to be, the fundamentals of true growth.

Though the pieces of nature are varied and not entirely connected through the same locations, they are tied together by the experience of seasons. By the way I have experienced healing and growth through myself and nature.

Being in nature shows us how deeply connected we trulv are - turning outwardly during certain phases, inwards for others, following the light (joy), choosing to stay strong in the storms and release in the safety of the warm sun.

Patterns, shapes, connection, syncrosities and the way we mimic nature in human form is what draws me in.

My paintings are not realistic documentations, they are drawn blind contour (without looking at the canvas). Rather, they are a way to stay present to my subject. Painting becomes a meditation. An experience. A form of healing.

By bringing these pieces of nature together to paint, All Things Bloom explores the connection between growth and our perception of it. Between experience and presence.
